Trip Report: Castlepoint scenic walk, Sunday 26th January 2025.
At 9am on Sunday Christine, Josh, Brenda and I decided to head out to Castlepoint and wander along the Deliverance Cove Scenic Trail that runs along the back of the lagoon. Along the way we ran into a traditional country traffic jam but were soon through and on our way again.
Even though I've been out to the beach many times in my life this was the first time I'd headed up along the path and I was amazed by the view and happy that the rain and clouds were hanging back for the day.
We didn't decide to brave the track up to the top of Castle Rock today unfortunately but seeing everything spread out below us was incredible enough.
After making our way down to the beach we also traveled up to the lighthouse as no visit to Castlepoint can be complete without heading up the easy ramp and looking out over the Pacific Ocean.
By this time the tide was beginning to come in so we nipped into the general store and grabbed a bite to eat while watching people swimming and playing along the shoreline then headed back into town for an easy afternoon.
