First and foremost I'd like to thank the members of the Masterton Tramping Club for welcoming me into the club and providing me with the support and encouragement to lead what was the first of hopefully many trips.
According to one of the more knowledgeable club members Murray's Track was originally a navigation exercise for the mountain safety council, however due to regular traversal over the years there is now a rough path that you can follow between several of the main trails through the area. It has several uphill sections but as long as you pace yourself you will generally face very few issues as you make your way along the route.
Though unfortunately the weather wasn't quite as cooperative as I had hoped and there were some improvised track maintenance undertaken during the hike I felt that by the end of the trip we were all still happy that we had come along.
