White Rock Trapping and Tramping.
9 keen trampers headed to White Rock for a day along the Opuawe River - checking 73 DOC-250 and 16 Timms trap stations along each side of the river. We split into 2 groups starting inland and heading to the coast. We topped up the beef meat for lure and reset any triggered traps. Our pest count was 12 hedgehogs and 8 mice. We observed 7 Banded Dotterel in the river bed (the bird we are protecting with the trapping). On the Friday night we checked out the moon eclipse from White Rock itself. Thanks to Joe for organising the accommodation and trapping gear.
